The Book of God
*
Ever heard the saying ‘Man is made in God’s image’? Well, what if God’s a bit mental?
*
God is alive and well and lives just outside the small town of Brawl.
*
Brawl’s people are a simple folk; they struggle by, they procreate, they drink, they grumble.
*
And all the while, in a treehouse outside town, God sits and stews, indignant at his perverted and ignominious creation.
*
His scribe, a browbeaten and cowering acolyte, struggles to bring order to The Book of Souls, a record of every being that has ever passed on earth, the book’s disorder having only contributed to the Lord’s suffering.
*
Forced to look for outside help in the care of the Almighty, the Scribe hires a maid. The maid, a buxom and homely housewife, stirs something in the Lord. And what’s more, the maid has a young and lovely daughter…
*
The Book of God is a work of prose, poetry and black humour that casts an irreverent eye on the holy trinity of sex, death and madness.
